今年的特大干旱，使水库见底、开裂，井水断流，人没有水喝，庄稼没有水种，工厂没有水生产……涌现出了许多可歌可泣的抗旱救灾英雄人物。
我们贵州省关岭自治县半坡村村民申玉光，就是其中的一位英雄。连续干旱，半坡村水井的水枯竭了。全村人不得不找新的水源。经过艰难寻找，他们在一个小溶洞内找到了水。村民将抽水机吊入洞中，安装了胶水管准备引水入村，申玉光也加入了引水队伍中。然而抽水机突然出问题，申玉光主动要求下洞里修理。没想到，抽水机突然发出巨响，申玉光被震入深不可测的水潭。4天后，他的遗体才被找到。
水资源并不是取之不尽，用之不竭的，不要有水用时不知道珍惜啊！云南缺水的地方，学校的小朋友喝的是浑水，有的人一年都没水洗澡，挑水要往返几十公里，走的是悬崖峭壁，崎岖山路，其中有小朋友，还有老爷爷，还有背着孩子找水的妈妈……艰难的寻水路、艰苦的挑水人啊，希望能警示我们“要像爱护眼睛一样珍惜水资源”，“假如人类不珍惜水源，地球上最后一滴水将是人的眼泪”。
